Vitamin Crefines skin texture to brighten and even skin tone while smoothing the look of fine lines. MD Complete uses a more advanced and bioavailable form of Vitamin C (THD), which is more potent and absorbs far better than traditional ascorbic acid.
Lactic Acid is a natural ingredient from fermented milk. It’s unique in the AHA family due to its ability to be a highly rejuvenating exfoliant at relatively high pH levels (suitable for use outside of a dermatologist’s office), without causing notable irritation or downtime. Another unique characteristic is Lactic Acid’s ability to actually increase the skin’s retention of moisture.
Mandelic Acid is derived from bitter almond. As one of the largest AHAs, Mandelic Acid penetrates the epidermis more slowly and uniformly. This makes it less irritating than common AHAs like glycolic acid. In dermatology studies, Mandelic Acid has been shown highly effective in improving uneven skin tone.
Salicylic Acid is considered a beta-hydroxy-acid. Unlike AHAs that break down protein bonds, Salicylic Acid breaks down lipid (fat) bonds. That makes it ideally suited to unclog and reduce the appearance of pores. It is also gentler on skin than traditional glycolic acid. Tips for Success
On days you exfoliate, take a break from the rest of your skincare regimen and:
- Cleanse skin and pat dry
- Massage 3-4 pumps into your skin for 1-2 minutes
- Rinse after 5 minutes if you feel too much heat or 10 minutes if you don’t feel any significant heat, then gradually increase leave-on time with each application up to 12 minutes, if you don’t experience significant discomfort
- Apply to the hands, neck and décolleté, for expanded brightening
For Sensitive Skin
During your first treatment, rinse off after just 2 minutes. Gradually increase the leave-on time (1-2 minutes per application) as your skin becomes acclimated to the product, as long as you don’t experience significant discomfort.
For Dry Skin
Use a nutrient-rich serum, like Retinol Vitamin C Concentrate, after exfoliating to nourish your skin, lightly hydrate and boost your results.
Sun Warning
Exfoliating treatments leave skin more sensitive to sun exposure. It is especially important to prevent sun damage by applying a broad-spectrum SPF 30-50 each morning. Reapply throughout the day, as needed.
